About Urgent CareIn partnership with the University Hospital of North Tees and Hartlepool Foundation Trust and the North East Ambulance Service, we designed and launched the Integrated Urgent Care Centres in April 2017. In April 2024, we expanded our alliance to include South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and expanded the service to cover an additional two sites in South Tees. Our centres provide patient care for those with minor injuries and illnesses who need urgent treatment. They are open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, with the exception of our Redcar site, which is closed from midnight to 8am. If you are unwell and need to use the service, we advise that you book an appointment first, via 111.nhs.uk or by calling NHS 111, as this is likely to speed up your treatment and help you do your waiting at home. You are also able to walk into the centres without an appointment. The team is GP-led, but includes a number of highly-trained healthcare professionals, including Healthcare Assistants, Urgent Care Practitioners, Minor Injury Specialists and Advanced Practitioners (Paramedics). |
