About the Waiting Well Project
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, some patients have been on the waiting list for treatment from our secondary care colleagues for longer than any of us would like. These patients can become more unwell, or can become confused about when, where, and what their next steps are.
Partners in North Tees and Hartlepool NHS FT recognised the expertise in providing non-clinical support (i.e. social prescribing) that the Federation could offer and, together, we worked to design a service tailored to the needs of these patients.
Our Waiting Well team is a pilot aiming to ensure that patients are ready and able to attend their hospital appointment once it is available, thus preventing the waste of valuable resources.
