About COVID Oximetry@HomeDeveloped as a pilot scheme during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic, our COVID-19 Oximetry@Home service was designed to help people with COVID-19 in the community, reducing hospital admissions and supporting Primary Care. The service operated by providing equipment - a pulse oximeter and thermometer - to patients, who took their own readings at home. Those readings were monitored seven days a week by our incredible nurses, who were on hand to offer advice and support as well as to escalate cases through dedicated pathways where necessary. Since opening in July 2020, we've seen over 2,400 patients. Award-WinningOur COVID Oximetry@Home service was awarded Primary Care Initiative of the Year award at the HSJ Patient Safety Awards 2021.
Our COVID Oximetry@Home service was a runner-up in the Digital Health category at the Burdett Nursing Awards 2023. |
