About PCN Pharmacy
In 2019, when the GP NHS contract changed, we saw an opportunity to broaden the support we offered our Primary Care Networks. So, in September of the same year, we launched our Pharmacy Service, in which we recruit, manage and support Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians for our Primary Care Networks.
We are incredibly proud that our service is so respected that in January 2021 Central Middlesbrough PCN approached us and asked us to support them as well.

Clinical PharmacistsOur Clinical Pharmacists work within the wider General Practice team and are responsible for a wide variety of tasks, from helping patients with their medications when they're discharged from hospital and helping people to manage their long-term conditions, like diabetes and asthma, to reviewing medications for patients with complex needs and running clinical audits. |
Pharmacy TechniciansOur Pharmacy Technicians support the Clinical Pharmacists and the wider General Practice team with a mix of patient facing and behind the scenes work. It depends on the needs of the Primary Care Network, but many of our team are involved in working with care homes, organising medication reviews, and reducing over-prescribing. |
